Role Overview The Senior Application Architect within Enterprise Architecture drives value to Cardinal Health through their deep hands on experience with multiple applications and technologies. This role also acts as a coach, mentor, and trainer to solution tech leads. As part of Enterprise Architecture, this role is responsible for defining the architectural models, governance, and transition initiatives needed to effectively coordinate stakeholders toward a common goal. What is expected of you and others at this level: Proactively assess value and potential application of emerging technologies and products Produces IT strategies and roadmaps in their architecture domains based on business strategy, business and IT trends, and current and future architectures. Responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that support and enhance business and technologies strategies. Reviews, advises, and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals. Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design and reuse of technology solutions across the enterprise. Develops and documents reference architectures, position papers, and educational materials. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate. Active member of Architecture Review Board Interfaces across several business areas, acting as visionary to proactively assist in leveraging enterprise capabilities and services. Effectively communicates and influences others towards moving to future state architectures. Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues Qualifications Advanced experience in architecture or application design Knowledge of Agile development, DevSecOps practices, APIs and microservices Experience in working with architects across all architectural domains.
