Full-Time is seeking an Oil & Gas experienced Applications Team Lead to join us on a permanent or contract basis in Aberdeen. As Applications Team Lead, you'll be the focal point for the team and stakeholders and provide application support for the Surface, Sub-surface and Business Application portfolio to the end-user community. As Applications Team Lead you will play an instrumental role in driving delivery within the support team and ensuring the team are effective at providing support to all stakeholders across the business.

What you'll do

  • Act as the focal point for the applications support team and business stakeholders
  • Prioritise incidents and requests, based upon customer input and defined criteria, to ensure service delivery to the customer is optimised effectively
  • Act as escalation point, provide ownership of issues, and actively work with service partners to plan a resolution
  • Work in accordance with established SLAs, and agree timescales for delivery of solutions with customers
  • Carry out proactive problem management to identify and provide permanent fixes to ongoing technical issues
  • Involvement in service transition processes applied to the applications portfolio, including change management, release and deployment management, and configuration management
  • Co-ordinate where appropriate responses to incidents/requests with service partners (infrastructure, data management), 3rd party vendors and ensure customer is kept up to date with progress
  • Coordinate and assure day to day operation of Applications support team
  • Provide technical application installation and configuration
  • Manage licensing related incidents for technical applications
  • Coordinate application upgrades according to agreed upgrade schedule and within the change management practices defined
  • Capture known issues and related information to drive knowledge transfer across both Applications support team members and other support groups
  • Create and maintain application inventories and documentation
  • Highlight areas of improvement needed within support processes and procedures, make recommendations where appropriate

What to bring

  • Extensive experience in the IT and upstream oil and gas industries
  • Experience of managing people in fast-paced applications support environments
  • Strong background in the support of Subsurface Applications
  • Experience of supporting applications in the upstream oil and gas, industry, including Petrel, Eclipse, TNavigator, ArcGIS, FlexLM licence management, Petex Suite
  • Experience of incident and problem management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of colleagues, internally and externally
  • Self-supporting and proactive
  • Ability to adapt to different and emerging technologies and systems
  • Motivational and supervisory skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Certification in ITIL v3 to at least Foundation level
