Senior Business Analyst Murex F2B2R/Senior Back Office Murex Business Analyst

My client is one of the largest banks based in the Netherlands, looking for a Senior Business Analyst Murex F2B2R/Senior Back Office Murex Business Analyst. The Senior Business Analyst Murex F2B2R/Senior Back Office Murex Business Analyst role is focused especially towards the functional areas of Operations and Product Control. The right Senior Business Analyst Murex F2B2R/Senior Back Office Murex Business Analyst candidate will be to provide functional and technical analytical skills in relation to the Murex platform, communicating these for development via user stories and ensuring comprehensive tests are available.

The main objective of the team is to maintain the Murex service through support and delivery of "Business as Usual" change. The team also engages with an on-going programme to implement next phases of the Front-to-Back-to-Risk trade processing platform based on the Murex product, replacing a number of current systems.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To analyse user/business requirements, construct user stories and Product Backlog Items to be developed in to system solutions
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support (including on-call out-of-hours and being part of a rota that requires evening work every so many weeks) for the production service; when escalated, resolve incidents and problems in area of expertise
  • Review and optimise requirements in liaison with the vendor and other parties
  • Oversee the development of functional solutions within the Murex environment
  • Investigate, and propose solutions, on functional and technical issues raised by Business Users and peers in IT teams
  • Facilitate a knowledge handover to team members on functional and where appropriate technical components to remove single points of expertise and key person risk
  • Working with other team members in an Agile/DevOps way-of-working, construct relevant solution and tests per functional requirement
  • Agree functional resolutions within service and project timeframes with vendor

Key Relationships

  • The key relationships for the job holder will be with the RMS Delivery Manager, Support Teams, Scrum Team Members, Scrum Master, Product Owner(s) and Project Manager(s).

Performance Indicators

  • Deliver effective User Stories (design and functional specifications) for agreement
  • Work in the RMS team and where agreed on the FtBtR project as directed
  • Meet delivery dates, work to required standards providing business functional and technical documentation
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to other business analysts/developers
  • Implementation of standards (project and process) and provide direction for other team members
  • Provide feedback for lessons learnt from projects and support tasks
  • Ensure comprehensive communication with the clients, other teams involved and the project manager

Job Skills and Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of and experience working in an international Financial Markets organisation
  • Expert knowledge of the Murex platform specifically focusing in the areas of Operations (post-trade workflow) and Product Control (accounting)
  • MxMLExchange (workflows, tasks, Amendment agent, space definitions, interfaces, trade repository)
  • XML/XLS development skills (Message transformation and generation: swift, documents, advices, notifications etc)
  • Trade life cycle (booking and market operations) for FXMM, IRD vanilla products, Futures (margin calls), call accounts
  • Contract matching logic
  • Pretrade workflow (pricing and booking sequences)
  • Cash settlements (release cycle, netting, fixing, split etc)
  • SSI management and maintenance (nostro, Vostro, SSI assignment logic)
  • Confirmation instruction setup and assignment (filters setup with Murex Data query language)
  • User definable fields setup
  • CLS OOB interface
  • Accounting rules setup for trades and flows (OOB rules and customized rules using simulation views)
  • Datamart reporting chain (for PL and GL reports)
  • Official P&L generation and simulation views knowledge
  • Unix knowledge to investigate logs
  • Experience working with Agile practices in a DevOps team
