Health & Safety Officer - Job Summary

Location: Denham
Department: Production Engineering
Reports to: PED Manager
Direct Reports: None

Purpose of Role:

Ensure a safe working environment for manufacturing staff by conducting risk and COSHH assessments, maintaining safety documentation, and promoting compliance with H&S regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk and COSHH assessments for manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work and the Health & Safety Management Plan.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Standardise H&S documentation and conduct safety audits.
  • Monitor KPI performance and provide reports to senior management.
  • Train and communicate H&S policies to staff.
  • Support additional H&S compliance initiatives and training.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation (HASAW, COSHH, DSEAR, COMAH).
  • Experience in risk assessment, compliance, and training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn H&S management software.

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
  • NEBOSH Certificate & IOSH membership.
