Summary of the key purposes of the role
- To work alongside the Head of Financial Crime KYC team and other colleagues to provide guidance to senior management and staff across all group entities to ensure that the business remains compliant with all relevant financial crime regulations, legislation and industry best practice.
- To perform on-going client file KYC reviews as part of the Group's requirements and to ensure that the Bank remains in compliance with.
- To assist in monitoring the effectiveness of the Bank's financial crime Compliance Program on a group wide basis, and ensure that financial crime related policies, procedures, systems and controls are being complied with, working effectively and are properly Embedded across all Bank's group entities.
- To provide financial crime related management information to the Bank's senior management, commercial directors and key support functions to evidence the effectiveness of the Bank financial crime compliance program on a group wide basis and to inform decision making at all levels of the organisation.
Summary of responsibilities
- Review & oversee periodic reviews across all risk ratings for new and existing (through the Periodic Customer Review process) relationships across all businesses and jurisdictions.
- Assist and advise in the preparation of Compliance Opinion Forms for new High Risk customers requiring Group review and approval.
- As required, assist in the maintenance of the Bank's KYC related policies, procedures and guidance such that they are in compliance with UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar laws, rules and regulations.
- Providing support, advice and guidance to the Bank's staff on KYC related matters.
- Developing and strengthening relationships with business heads, relationship managers, operations managers and staff to promote best practice and ensure a good understanding of financial crime requirements.
- Assist with any Group KYC projects including those which have been newly initiated or enhancements to existing projects.
- Provide regular Management Information to the, Head of Financial Crime KYC team amongst others, on KYC related matters including whether the Bank remains within its internal risk appetite. In addition, provide written updates on risk relevant KYC issues including to the Bank's Management, Financial Crime Committee and Ex Co.
- Assist with the review of financial crime related regulatory change including preparing impact assessments, gap analysis and the execution of any action plans.
- Undertake reviews of any applicable regulatory enforcement action for financial crime failings to determine if any enhancements to the Bank's financial crime framework is required.
- Assist in the drafting and execution of controls to ensure that applicable financial crime policies, processes and processes are being adhered to and escalating to the Group Head of Financial Crime, as applicable, any issues which are identified.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the principles outlined in the Code of Conduct, as well as policies and procedures relevant to the responsibilities of the role, to ensure adherence to a culture that treats clients fairly and focuses on the long-term sustainability of client relationships.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline internal processes, and ultimately improve the client experience to contribute towards Commercial objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping requirements are adhered to, in line with regulatory requirements, maintaining comprehensive documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory reporting.
