Network Engineer - CCNA, Palo Alto, Wifi, Cisco, Nexus - Solihull - 4 weeks - Inside IR35

Looking for a Network Engineer to work on multiple sites in the Solihull area. Working on behalf of a leading Cisco Gold Partner on their Clients' network infrastructure.

You will be expected onsite in various sites within the Solihull area to work on their Wi-Fi connectivity as well as diagnosing issues with any Switches and configuring and replacing if needed. The Firewall on the Network estate is Palo Alto, so strong experience in this is required as you will need to triage any issues with connectivity caused by the Firewall when needed.

• Cisco CCNA qualified
• Extensive knowledge of configuring and diagnosing issues with Cisco 9300, 9500 and Nexus Switches.
• Ability to patch Switches.
• Knowledge of DHCP
• Basic knowledge of Windows 10.
• Knowledge of Cisco Wi-Fi - AP configuration (APs connected to 9800 and 5520 controllers 1852APs and 9160s)
  • Knowledge of setup and use of Guest WiFi portals via Cisco Wi-Fi controllers and ISE would be advantageous.
• Ability to analyse user's issues regarding network connectivity and passage of traffic via the network to the end application:

As part of this, the technician will be required to:

• Establish if the user is connected to the network this may be either by Ethernet or Wi-Fi
• Confirm that connectivity is working - can the user connect to file shares in the data centre, the Internet, Internal Networks, etc.
• Establish where the traffic is stopping - ie, perform trace routes to see how far the connectivity goes.
• Establish if traffic is being blocked by our Firewalls or by the host
• Evaluate if there are issues with network speed
