Infrastructure Automation Engineer - Python - Contract - £400pd (INSIDE IR35)

My client a leader in their field are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Automation Engineer with expertise in Ansible, Python, and REST APIs, specifically focused on storage automation. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing automation solutions for enterprise storage infrastructure, ensuring scalable and reliable automation across storage provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.

• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and Python scripts for storage automation.

• Automate storage provisioning, configuration, and monitoring for Dell EMC PowerMax/Vmax, PURE, HP Primera/3Par, Cisco SAN Switches, and Brocade SAN Switches.

• Create modular, reusable, and well-documented Ansible roles and collections for enterprise-wide adoption.

• Integrate Ansible automation with RESTful APIs and third-party storage platforms.

• Work extensively with Ansible Tower/AWX, designing workflows and job templates for large-scale deployments.

• Develop custom Ansible modules and plugins to extend automation capabilities.

• Implement TDD/BDD methodologies for testing infrastructure automation.

• Contribute to CI/CD automation by developing Jenkins pipelines for infrastructure provisioning.

• Conduct testing using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, PyTest, and Panda.

• Ensure testing in production-like environments with representative volumes.

• Automate testing processes for infrastructure changes and automation scripts.

• Implement automated deployment and provisioning to reduce manual infrastructure builds.

• Provide configuration management, reporting, and enforcement where applicable.

• Infrastructure Automation: Ansible (including Tower/AWX), Terraform

• Scripting & Programming: Python, Bash, PowerShell

• Storage & Networking: Experience with Dell EMC PowerMax/Vmax, PURE, HP Primera/3Par, Cisco SAN Switches, Brocade SAN Switches

• DevOps & CI/CD: GIT, Jenkins, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Testing & Validation: TDD/BDD methodologies, Selenium, TestNG, PyTest, Panda

• Configuration Management: Puppet, Chef, VMware vRealize Automation

• Experience in automating enterprise storage infrastructure.

• Strong understanding of storage APIs and vendor integrations.

• Exposure to testing infrastructure changes in production-like environments.

• Familiarity with highly regulated environments (eg, finance, healthcare, government).

• Knowledge of automated deployment strategies for infrastructure components.
