Senior Network Engineer

London/Hybrid

We're looking for a Network Engineer to work with a client in London on a hybrid basis (2-3 days onsite pw) for an initial 6 month contract that can extend. The role will be working with Linux based Servers both on-prem and cloud, security patches, upgrade and config, reviewing network infrastructure and working as the escalation point for issues. The project is working for a telecommunications organisation and experience in the industry is essential.

• Grafana, Zabbix, Ansible, Cacti, Zenoss, Netcool, iManager, Nagios, Splunk, SNMP, FreeRADIUS
• Remote Desktop/Telnet and SSH, Console Access, Management Networks
• Experience of Telecommunications industry: practices, standards, regulatory requirements
• Industry standard availability metrics, eg MTBF, MTTR, SLA, SLO, OLA
• Network monitoring protocols
• Creating dashboards and weather maps with Grafana
• Automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Puppet
• Version control systems, eg Git

Desirable skills:

• Familiarity with SIEM, detect security threats and event correlation
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) practices
• Experience with database proxies
• Experience with data replication, backup, and recovery strategies
• Expertise in database performance tuning and optimisation
• Experience with network assurance and/or automated network configuration analysis platforms
