Job Title: Network Engineer - Telco/Service Provider
Contract: 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Day Rate: £450 - £500 per day
Location: Hybrid/London 1 day a week
Weekend work required, every Saturday with the occasional Sunday (time back during the week)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with a strong background in telecommunications/service provider networks to support a large-scale MPLS L2/L3 VPN migration project. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting MPLS networks within a service provider environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support MPLS L2/L3 VPN migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
- Implement, and optimize MPLS network infrastructure within a service provider environment.
- Troubleshoot complex routing and switching issues, ensuring network stability and performance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute migration plans, including testing, validation, and deployment.
- Provide detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and security standards.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Extensive experience working in telecommunications or service provider networks.
- Strong expertise in MPLS networking, including L2/L3 VPNs and traffic engineering.
- Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and other routing protocols in a service provider environment.
- Experience with network migrations, including planning, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with QoS, network automation (Python, Ansible), and SDN/NFV concepts is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
