Checkpoint Firewall Support Engineer - Inside IR35 - 6-Month Contract - Hybrid

Are you an experienced Checkpoint Firewall Support Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity? We are working with a market-leading airline seeking a skilled professional to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension.

Based on-site at Heathrow, five days per week, this role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, high-availability environment, ensuring the security and stability of critical network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support Checkpoint Firewalls, ensuring the security, availability, and optimal performance of the organisation's critical network infrastructure.
• Monitor, analyse, and troubleshoot Firewall issues, proactively identifying potential threats or vulnerabilities and implementing effective resolutions.
• Maintain and optimise Firewall policies and rule sets, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and internal security standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT and security teams to support network changes, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity.
• Document configurations, policies, and change management processes, providing clear technical guidance and maintaining an audit-ready environment.
• Support LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and overall network performance, ensuring a secure and stable enterprise environment.
• Gain exposure to Juniper networking technologies, assisting with configuration and troubleshooting in a multi-vendor environment.

What you will ideally bring:

• Proven experience in Checkpoint Firewall administration, including troubleshooting, policy management, and optimisation.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, including Firewall rules, VPNs, intrusion prevention, and threat mitigation.
• Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN networking, including routing, switching, VLANs, and network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Exposure to Juniper networking technologies (Firewalls, Switches, or Routers) is highly desirable.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale environments, ideally within highly regulated industries such as aviation, finance, or telecoms.
• Relevant certifications such as Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP are advantageous.
