OT Solutions Architect - Onsite - 6 months - Inside IR35

Hamilton Barnes are recruiting for an experienced OT Solutions Architect to join a market-leading utilities company on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong potential for extension. Based in Wokingham, this role offers an exciting opportunity to design and implement robust Operational Technology (OT) solutions, enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and security of critical infrastructure.

This contract is signed off Inside IR35, if you have a strong background in OT architecture, solution design, and security within the utilities or industrial sector, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Lead Architect to develop and maintain OT architecture frameworks and roadmaps, ensuring integration with existing OT and IT systems.
• Ensure OT solutions adhere to cybersecurity best practices and comply with industry standards such as NIS-D, NERC CIP, and ISO 27001, conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Gather requirements from key stakeholders, collaborate with solution teams, operations, and security, and provide architectural leadership to deliver robust OT solutions.
• Support technology assessments, automation initiatives, and cloud-based solutions on Azure, while conducting architecture reviews, writing technical documentation, and developing reusable assets for the organisation.

What you will ideally bring:

• Strong OT Expertise - Hands-on experience with Operational Technology (OT) applications, including Data Historian, RTU, SCADA, Wide Area Management, and Frequency Response systems.
• Knowledge of OT communication protocols such as IEC104, IEC101, IEC 61850, DNP3, and ICCP (TASE2.0), along with a keen understanding of the CIM Model.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale Real Time data, with expertise in data integration and big data analytics to support operational decision-making.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts, Kubernetes, and containerisation, supporting scalable and resilient OT architectures.
• Background in power systems, bringing domain-specific insights to enhance OT solutions (Preferred).

• Duration: 6 months
• Location: Wokingham 5 Days Per Week
• Day Rate: Up to £630 Per Day (Inside IR35)
