Head of Engineering - San Francisco

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale the engineering team.
• Define and track key performance metrics, including code quality, reliability, and development velocity.
• Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and roadmap execution to align short-term goals with long-term strategy.
• Establish and maintain best practices for documentation, workflows, and communication.
• Make high-level architectural and technical decisions, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to align engineering priorities with company objectives.
• Work closely with leadership to shape the company's technical vision and long-term product strategy.

Requirements

• Experience as a technical co-founder, founding engineer, or early-stage engineering leader in a high-growth environment.
• Proven expertise in AI technologies, with a strong technical background in system architecture and software development.
• Experience scaling engineering teams in both large technology companies and small, fast-growing startups or entrepreneurial ventures.
• Ability to navigate technical trade-offs while maintaining a user- and business-focused approach.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working closely with customers to shape product decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with authentication systems or API integrations.
• Background in developer-focused products.
